Located in Dana Point, Advanced Dermatology is a full-service dermatology practice specializing in the treatment of all skin, hair, and nail disorders. Our staff is warm and friendly & dedicated to caring for you and your health. Our board certified dermatologists provide comprehensive care.

Both of our dermatologists completed their training at the renowned program at the University of Minnesota, one of the largest and most prestigious Dermatology programs in the nation. They enjoy working together to provide the highest level of care for their patients. In fact they regularly consult one another and work in collaboration to bring forth the most precise, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented results for our patients. All of our dermatologists are Diplomates of the American Board of Dermatology (www.abderm.org) and members of the American Academy of Dermatology (www.aad.org) and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (www.asds.net).

All of our providers are highly trained in all aspects of general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services including skin exams, benign lesion removal, moles and growths, warts, cysts, pigmentation problems, wrinkles, acne, eczema, rashes, psoriasis, hair and nail disorders, laser surgery, dermal fillers, Botox and much more.

Maryam Moinfar, M.D.

Dr. Maryam Moinfar is a board-certified dermatologist with a deep commitment to patient care and skin health. A proud Orange County native, she leads the expert team at Advanced Dermatology in Dana Point, where she combines cutting-edge medical and surgical dermatology with a warm, personalized approach. Dr. Moinfar received her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. Named “Woman of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare” in 2009, she continues to be recognized for her leadership and dedication to excellence. Her clinical expertise includes skin cancer treatment and prevention, surgical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Moinfar specializes in a unique aesthetic procedure known as Silhouette InstaLift, a non-surgical facelift alternative that delivers natural-looking results with minimal downtime. She truly enjoys her profession and has a love of medicine. Known for her approachable style and meticulous care, Dr. Moinfar is also the dermatologist other physicians turn to when they need treatment themselves. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of medical professionals and continues to be an active member of the local medical community. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Moinfar enjoys spending time with her family and bringing joy to those around her. She is currently accepting new patients and takes great pride in delivering thoughtful, comprehensive dermatologic care.

Jeffrey K. Lander, M.D.

Jeffrey Lander, M.D., Ph.D. is a board certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon accepting new patients and referrals. Dr. Lander is a native of Southern California. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at UC, Irvine before completing his medical school and dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota. He has completed an additional one year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology for in-office skin cancer surgery and reconstruction. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology) and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Due to his level of expertise, he heads the Mohs Microscopic Surgery department within our practice and is highly experienced in making sure your skin maintains healthy and vigorous. He has wonderful bedside manners and his calming demeanor helps to soothe and put his patient’s mind at rest.

Madeline Fee, PA-C

Madeline Fee, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant and proud Orange County native. She began her academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology. During her time at Berkeley, Madeline was actively involved in public service, volunteering with Rotary International—an experience that fueled her passion for medicine and helping others. She went on to earn her Master of Health Science from the Duke University School of Medicine, home to the nation’s top-ranked Physician Assistant program, where she graduated at the top of her class. Madeline is also a familiar face at Advanced Dermatology. Before attending Duke, she spent five years working as a medical assistant and training under Dr. Moinfar. She is excited to return to the practice in a new role and is currently accepting new patients. Outside of work, Madeline enjoys hiking, dancing, and traveling.

Shylie Falahati, PA-C

Shylie Falahati, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant, born and raised in beautiful Orange County. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, graduating cum laude, and went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University in Oregon, where she graduated at the top of her class—reflecting her dedication to both academic excellence and compassionate clinical care. Shylie is a familiar face at Advanced Dermatology, where she previously trained as a medical assistant. She is thrilled to return in her new role as a Physician Assistant and is currently accepting new patients. As a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Shylie is committed to staying at the forefront of dermatologic advancements to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care. Outside of dermatology, she enjoys reading, pilates, hot yoga, swimming, and discovering new restaurants.
